(syn. metternichii) Flowers in ball shaped truss, clear light pink. Excellent
dark shiny foliage with light indumentum.

heavy indumentum.

Fls 7-15 in domed truss, 5 wavy-edged lobes, pale purplish pink; lvs hairy below, gray at first, aging to fawn.

maximum, 'Curtis Creek'
We are raising seedlings of a rare "red" R. maximum found near Curtis Creek on the
side of Mount Mitchell, NC.
The plant has deep burgundy flower buds that open to light red flowers. The sap
is cranberry red, often visible in the leaves when seen agaist the light.
